The human face is the subtle yet visual autobiography of each person.

In a certain sense, to gaze into the face of another is to gaze into the depth and entirety of his life.                      John O'Donohue

“The train is a small world moving through a larger world.”

                          https://joan-reese.pixels.com/featured/midnight-train-joan-reese.html
Suspended in a moving night.       The face in the reflection train
Looks at first sight as self-assured.       As your own face - But look again:
Windows between you and the world.         Keep out the cold, keep out the fright;
Then why does your reflection seem   So lonely in the moving night?”

“You never forget someone you've loved once.”

Make as many friends as you can, but don't build your life on them alone. It's an unstable foundation.
Some people are going to leave, but that's not the end of your  story. That's the end of their part in your story.

We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.

“If Irish or Italian culture dies in America it really isn't that big a deal. They will still exist in Italy and Ireland. Not so with us. There is no other place. North America is our old country.”

“Wisdom comes from reflection.”

“Each time a person passes by you and you say 'hello', imagine that person turning into a candle. The more positivity, love and light you reflect, the more light is mirrored your way. Sharing beautiful hellos is the quickest way to earn spiritual brownie points. You should start seeing hellos as small declarations of faith. Every time you say hello to a stranger, your heart acknowledges over and over again that we are all family.” ― Suzy Kassem

“A dove carries peace on its wings.”

Every morning my Dove family arrives at 7AM for their feeding of wild bird seed. I do not know how birds communicate but they found a way to bring family and friends. They have to be alert at all times; a hawk flies by looking for a Dove Buffet.  Joan Reese

The atmosphere sets the mood.

A happy life must be to a great extent a quiet life, for it is only in an atmosphere of quiet that true joy dare live.

Let our New Year's resolution be this:
we will be there for one another as fellow members of humanity, in the finest sense of the word.

Imagine all the people living life in peace. You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one. I hope someday you’ll join us, and the world will live as one. John Lennon

This world is but a canvas to our imagination.

Without leaps of imagination, or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all, is a form of planning. Gloria Steinem

An angel has no memory.

The way people come into your life when you need them, it's wonderful and it happens in so many ways. It's like having an angel. Somebody comes along and helps you get right. Stevie Ray Vaughan

The bad news is time flies. The good news is you're the pilot.

               https://joan-reese.pixels.com/featured/north-wildwood-new-jersey-joan-reese.html
Time is a sort of river of passing events, and strong is its current; no sooner is a thing brought to sight than it is swept by and another takes its place, and this too will be swept away.
Marcus Aurelius

A grateful heart is a magnet for miracles.

                         https://joan-reese.pixels.com/featured/october-pumpkins-joan-reese.html
Be thankful for the struggles you go through. They make you stronger, wiser and humble. Don’t let them break you. Let them make you.

Time will pass and seasons will come and go. ...

                            https://joan-reese.pixels.com/featured/fireworks-14-joan-reese.html
Everything has seasons, and we have to be able to recognize when something's time has passed and be able to move into the next season. Everything that is alive requires pruning as well, which is a great metaphor for endings.  Henry Cloud

The universal pursuit of the individual human being is to escape loneliness.

                https://joan-reese.pixels.com/featured/solitary-man-joan-reese.html?newartwork=true
One of the illusions that we live by is that we can really know anybody else, and we're often surprised by traits in people that we thought we knew very well. The struggle to overcome loneliness, which is sort of our universal burden, leads us to leap to conclusions about who other people are.   Thomas McGuane

“Even if you cannot change all the people around you, you can change the people you choose to be around. Life is too short to waste your time on people who don’t respect, appreciate, and value you. Spend your life with people who make you smile, laugh, and feel loved.”
Roy T. Bennett

“One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.”

                                https://yourshot.nationalgeographic.com/profile/1770356/

John Denver: “Music does bring people together. It allows us to experience the same emotions. People everywhere are the same in heart and spirit. No matter what language we speak, what color we are, the form of our politics or the expression of our love and our faith, music proves: We are the same.”

Perseverance is a great element of success. If you only knock long enough and loud enough at the gate, you are sure to wake up somebody.

You do not need to leave your room. Remain sitting at your table and listen. Do not even listen, simply wait, be quiet still and solitary. The world will freely offer itself to you to be unmasked, it has no choice, it will roll in ecstasy at your feet.
Franz Kafka
